Q: Can you tell me a moment that you will remember for ever?

Friend A: One day we were doing a supper club at my friends' place. I was not in a good place, but I came to be with friends. I enjoyed every thing we were doing: chopping, measuring, stirring, cooking and making healthy food together. Being with friends doing this. That was a really special moment for me.

Q: How long was that moment for you?

A: The entire moment lasted about 3 hours. I will never forget the connection I felt that day.

Q: Can you remember a special moment that stands out for you?

Friend A: My sister was here for overseas. I was really having a hard time, and to help me she made me do something every day. She pushed me to be socially active, and one day she pushed me to go play soccer in the park. I resented going there. We couldn't find our friends in the very large park, we had to call them to find their location. Finally, we saw them. I started to kick around the ball, but I was miserable. Someone picked up a frisbee, and I joined in... suddenly I focused on the frisbee, my friends, and the sun in the park. My friends and sister were around me. It was a turning point for me. From that moment on I felt so much better.

Q: How long was that moment for you?

A: About 40 minutes. It was very hot. I had very short athletics shorts on that showed my underwear, so I got a little self-conscious.

Q: Can you share a moment that you will remember for ever?

Friend B: Yes, I can. (tears come) The moment was with my very ill cat, and my partner. We had come to the very hard decision to put our cat down. We had tried everything. It was a devestating decision, since I'm a real cat lover and was so in love with this cat in particular. He was such a loving friend to me, like I can never explain... It was absolutely heart-wrenching for us. It had been a dream of ours to bring our cat to the park when the Spring came, after he got his outdoor vaccinations. We decided to make our dream for him come true. We brought him to a quiet area in the park, laid down a picnic blanket and introduced him to nature. He was so amazed! I remember his cute little body in the grass. Sniffing at fallen leaves. We were so happy to share it with him, and with eachother. We both felt so connected to eachother, our precious pet and to nature, and to our shared love in this beautiful moment. The sun was slightly setting on a warm fall day. It was a beautiful and peaceful way to say goodbye.

Q: That sounds beautiful. How long did that moment last for you?

B: That moment was about an hour. We only had an hour with him. It was one beautiful hour that will stay in my heart and memory forever.

Q: Can you remember a special moment that stands out for you?

Friend M: We had climbed a mountain, and actually made it down again in one piece. We were exhausted and slightly ecstatic at the physical exertion. Dehydrated. In awe. Laughing hilariously that we made it! After making it back to our campsite we got into our bathing suits and tried to catch the last sun in the river than ran through the campground. We needed to cool off and some muscle relaxation. We were so hot but the water was so incredibly cold and fresh and refreshing. We had goose-bumps all over. It was a fast-running river too, so we really felt it pushing around our shivering bodies. And the sun was setting a bit and yellow-gold, and sparkling on the water. There were soft round pebbles at the bottom of the river, and they felt really funny. We huddled together sharing such an incredible moment together in the river sunset.

Q: How long was that moment for you?

M: Hard to say... we seemed lost in time and yet it probably was about 20 or 30 minutes. That was so incredibly special. I was so in love with my partner (now wife). I'll never forget that moment.

How long is a moment? How is time measured when we are lost in connection? In seven days the world was created, perhaps seven immeasurable moments. Time is so relative. Perhaps moments is how time is measured in God's time. Being in a moment feels so divine, so connected.

I thank God for immeasurable moments, and all the moments that make up moments of connection and passion and love. Here's to continuing to collect them...
