"A place of beauty and refreshment wherein we gather in community and love." ~ The Bahamas Word Day of Prayer Committee service

"Lord, we are amazed by you. How you love us! How deep and radical is your love. Teach us how to be more like you, and to model your radical love and gracious hospitality to all of your children. Amen."

"Lord God, we thank you for the courageous and hardworking women and mothers who taught us how to pray and worship you in good and bad times in our islands and in the world."

Started in 1920 by the Women's Inter-Church Council of Canada, World Day of Prayer is an ecumenical movement now observed in more than 170 countries.

The list of grants is impressive and generous, with thousands of dollars of offerings fro World Day of Prayer being distributed amongst good works happening around the globe.

I am grateful to the thoughtful women of The Bahamas for preparing the meaningful prayer service. I was inspired to see strong and collaborative spirit in women's organizing across borders, cultures and faith traditions. Women who defy odds to remain active and engaged with eachother and the church.

Many thanks to the women of Église St-Luc Presbyterian Church in Rosemont, Montreal for leading and preparing the service; and for the generosity of the luncheon and space for fellowship that was prepared. Thank you!

I will be sure to attend next year :)

Your sister in Christ, ~ MM
