"May this silence be a power to open the hearts of men and women to the vision of God, and so to each other, in love and peace, justice and human dignity. May the beauty of the divine life, fill this group and the hearts of all who pray here, with joyful hope. May all who come here weighed down by the problems of humanity leave giving thanks for the wonder of human life. We make this prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen." ~ Prayer by Father Laurence Freeman, The World Community for Christian Meditation

I am so happy to have created a prayer and meditation table in our home. The space serves as a meeting place for my time of quiet, meditation, devotional music and prayer.
The space is defined by a green cloth napkin, and holds: candles, a cross made of olive wood from jerusalem, a crystal paperweight, an oil diffuser, dried flowers, a plant, incense. Behind is our mandolin and my ukelele.

Our home is very small, which means that areas need to be multi-purpose. My prayers table is actually a small corner of our livingroom table.
The drawer underneath holds: my nrsv bible, my new "more voices" song book, and a wooden recorder (to help me learn the melodies from the song book). Beside the table is our red exercise ball, which I sit on.
Not shown here: my cellphone for the wccm meditation app and my computer for music or to visit SpiritSpace :)

As you can see, my cat enjoys spending time in meditation and quiet too. He loves to snooze in his cat tree above :)
It is lovely to create a space dedicated to prayer and meditation. It helps my partner respect my time there, and gives me a peaceful spot to tune it/tune out. I hope this little tour may inspire you to create your own space too. If you do, please share...
Best, am
